I was just about to go for my long awaited summer vacation to Europe. While boarding the plane, OnePlus messaged me about some new wallpapers that needed to be done pretty urgently. I got really excited about this new project but didn't get to know any details of what it was going to be, just that it was going to be awesome.

I figured since I was going to travel around Europe, that I could use this opportunity to experience the delight of painting in Paris. I, therefore, decided to go back to basics, not touching my computer at all during the initial design process.

I went around town looking for inspiration at various art galleries. On the way, I found a great art supply store where I bought myself lots of ink, acrylics, mediums, brushes and papers. It was incredibly fun, they had everything I needed! I then rented an apartment for a couple of days, where I experimented and used up all the materials I had bought, leaving the apartment filled with art, covering the whole floor so that I had to jump over the artworks to be able to navigate around.

A day later it was time to head for Berlin. Sadly, most of the artworks hadn't dried up yet. I, therefore, had to photograph all of them to be able to use them digitally before they got ruined in the packing. Trying to balance the artworks on different kitchen appliances while catching the sunlight outside the window, the color was dripping, it all had to happen extremely fast! I was late for the flight and had to rush, most of the paintings didn't make it and got stuck together during the flight.

Once in Berlin, in between great longboard rides and Pokemon hunting with my good friend Jeff, I spent most of my free time in Cafés, cutting, pasting, morphing, wrapping the pieces together to the final digital wallpapers you see here today.

If you managed to read through all this, thank you, I'm glad to be able to share the design process with you! Please tell me what you think in the comment section below <3

Desktopography 2016

...and it's live! This year Desktopography offers a wide variety of incredible nature-inspired wallpapers for you to possess. I'm involved this year too, with a new artwork I call "Creator". Download the wallpaper to see the details.

To talk more about the process behind this artwork, I can say that this one features ink and acrylic chaos merged into a digital artwork which I painted using a Wacom Intuos Pro. I've experimented a lot with ink and acrylics lately, you will see more of this style soon! The only 3D elements in this artwork are the mountains you see behind the clouds and fog.

Be sure to also check out all the other amazing artworks made by the artists for this years Desktopography exhibition!

Thanks for your time, please tell your thoughts in the comment section below. All the best!

OnePlus 3

It's finally launched! It's been awhile since the OnePlus 2 & X launch. While working on the OnePlus X wallpapers I was experimenting with putting acrylics into 3D space. For the OnePlus 3, I took it a step further and I really like how it turned out. I hope you do too!

Paranoid Android Wallpaper

Hey there! Can you believe it: Paranoid Android is back, better than ever! This time, one of my recent creations got the spot as the official wallpaper. I will keep creating more wallpapers for Paranoid Android, the community is just too amazing. I've gotten so many wonderful emails from people who like the wallpaper, it's so awesome to hear from you guys!

Therefore I want to share a hi-res version of the wallpaper that you can use as a wallpaper for your computer, phone or whatever cool machinery you're using. Thanks again!

A tribute to David Bowie

One of the greatest minds in music has died. R.I.P. David Bowie. He was always a great inspiration for me, I spent hours listening to Davids music while making my art. This is a tribute to David, a new artwork featuring Bowie with one of his iconic looks mixed with my art style.

I hope you guys like it and maybe even use it as your wallpaper for some time to remember him.

The artwork is made completely in Photoshop using photos of David only for reference. Everything is painted with my Wacom Intuos Pro. It's the first time I'm making hair in this way and I'm very happy with the result. I made this artwork in about a day, while listening to David Bowie on Spotify.

If you like it, please share it with your friends! Thank you!

OnePlus X

It's here and it looks really good! The OnePlus X is a new beautiful phone by OnePlus focusing on design. I'm happy to have worked together with this great team again, after receiving an excellent response on the wallpapers I made for OnePlus 2.

This time, I had almost no time to complete the wallpapers since we were on a tight schedule. Since they had a ready-made concept on how the phone should be presented, the wallpapers had to follow the concept. Therefore, the wallpaper had to be completely black on all edges and it had to form a clear X from the center point.

I started off by making a bunch of wallpapers, this time by experimenting more with traditional painting.

I made around ten different paintings using acrylics. I photographed them and tried to somehow make them work with the style OnePlus wanted, together with some quick 3D elements. The first experiment turned out like this (cropped):

Here're some examples of what I made

All wallpapers below are in full resolution and can be used on your OP2 or OPX

These artworks were made while closely following my own style and it was not really what OnePlus wanted this time. Therefore we started looking for inspiration, trying to find something that we liked that could work with the phone. After some time, we had developed this new concept, featuring liquid metallic forms floating in space!

It took some time to finalise this design and to be honest, the wallpapers never got 100% finalised before they had to be shipped out to the phones in production. I'm happy with the result, but it could have been better, I'm sure! :)

Now, I'll publish the refined versions of the default wallpapers for OnePlus X right here:

Here're a few photos I found on the internet featuring the phone with the wallpaper. People really seem to like the phone and the design, it makes me very happy!

Desktopography 2015

Hi there! Have you seen the wallpapers I made for the OnePlus 2 phone? If not, you can read more about that project over here. Today I have something else to share. I've made a new artwork for the exhibition Desktopography 2015. The theme is nature and it's the third year I'm showcasing my art for Desktopography. Here it is:

This time, I've made something pretty advanced. It took me over a year to finish this piece and I learned a lot while making it! It's made by using a Wacom pen tablet and some rendered 3D pieces I've put together. I really hope you like it! :)

Thank you! :)

New Office

It's been awhile, many things have happened! We, Next Big Thing just moved to a new wonderful office here in Goa. It´s an old yellow Portuguese house which we just now finished renovating. It feels great to be working from here, the vibe is perfect. See the office and like our page here.

And you might have noticed that I redesigned around here, a new logo and website! I hope you like it :)

I have many things going on, I can't show you just yet. What I can say is that I have been working on my own iOS game for a couple of months. I´m making it all by myself, so it will take some time, but I will have a website for the game up and running within a month!

Here´s an experiment I just made, combining two of my artworks.

Desktopography 2014 - Tengu

Hi there!

In a future world where forests extinction is near, where the ancient temples and the old world is buried in the sand. A new world emerge. A Tengu is overlooking the scene with a sad face.

Living in India

I moved to Panjim, Goa, India last week to start up a new office with the guys from work. We're planning on living here for about three months before going back to Stockholm.

My experience so far has been great, life in Goa is wonderful. We live together in a big house with a large pool. The start up scene in Goa is emerging, we're here just in time.

Our new office is located in the heart of Panjim, the picture above shows our rooftop view. We share the space with the wonderful people from Startup Goa.
